Our greatest strength is the experience and abilities of our team. Our management team applies broad experience in retail to make our client's assets as effective is possible. This team forms the core of our business, which has operated sites coast to coast for dozens of clients.

President

Roy’s entry into the world of retail was when he carried groceries to customer’s cars and stocked shelves in the family’s supermarket during elementary school summer vacations.  After graduating from Baylor University with a major in Business Marketing and an minor in Computer Sciences and from Baylor Law School with a JD degree, Roy lived in England for four years where he created and ran a magazine publication company and observed developing global retail trends.

Returning to the family retail business in 1988, Roy was initially responsible, in turn, for the company’s legal affairs, its fuel business, its international division, and, eventually, all of the company’s retail operations both in the US and internationally.  It was during the twenty years of providing retail services around the world that CMSI was created to provide the most professional contract site operations business in the industry.  By combining his years of operations and management experience with retail, technology, and operations professionals, the CMSI team has become the industry leader in providing retail site operations.
 
Roy has been heavily involved in the fuel and convenience industry having served on the membership committee, convention committee, board of directors and the executive board of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), the legislative committee of the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA), and participating in The Coca-Cola Research Committee, The Consumer Goods Forum (formerly CIES), and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT).
 
Roy has had the opportunity to address dozens of conferences on six continents as an expert in convenience retailing and the retail industry.  Roy has also participated on, or moderated, many expert panels of industry leaders helping to identify new consumer and retail trends.
 

Director of Operations

Wendy originally joined the Strasburger Team in 1980. Starting at store level, she moved up to the role of Merchandising Field Coordinator which led to her becoming a District Manager. In 1990 Wendy was promoted to the International Division where she worked in numerous countries overseeing the International project managers which also included a 5 year assignment in England developing the convenience store concept with a leading oil company. When re-assigned back to the States, Wendy took over the role of VP of Operations. Her last position before becoming Director of Operations was Director of Marketing so she has a well-rounded background in the convenience store business.

Director of Marketing

Bruce has over 30 years experience in the Convenience Store Industry starting in 1982 with Handee Marts Inc., an Area Licensee of 7-Eleven. During his tenure with Handee Marts, Bruce held the following positions, Store Manager, District Manager, Area Manager, Food Service Manager, Category Manager Core Categories, Director of Marketing, and Vice President of Marketing. Through all of these various positions he gained a comprehensive understanding of C-Store operations, Category Management and Marketing. Bruce’s specialty lies in developing categories within stores to maximize sales and profits and he has developed store lay outs and designs to complement those goals. Bruce’s strong understanding of operations helps him to understand how Category Management decisions affect the day to day store operations. Bruce has developed Marketing strategies for single store and chain operations, utilizing demographic data and competitive analysis and is pleased to bring these skills to CMSI.

Controller

After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Accounting from Southwest Texas State University in 1992, Michelle began her career with the company in 1993 working primarily with fuel and franchise accounting.

During her long tenure with the company, she also earned an MBA from Tarleton State University and was promoted to Assistant Controller in 1998. Through the years with the team, she has worked extensively with PDI Enterprise software to include setting up customized store entry formats and reports in order to meet the individual needs of clients. 2013 saw her move into her current position as Controller. Michelle enjoys the challenge of being a part of CMSI’s ever-evolving corporate landscape.

Director of Training

With a diverse management background as well as having owned a successful small business with her husband, Terresa saw the benefits of joining the Strasburger team in 1997. Starting at store level management she moved up in Operations to District Manager and Regional Training Director before being named Training Director. Teaching and training is her passion, whether in the lab developing new training programs, in our corporate stores or the many client sites the company has run from coast to coast. Incorporating written, computer based and one-on-one site based training makes ours a totally comprehensive training experience. Working with a single site or conducting classroom training for as many as thirty managers in a new market, Terresa considers the experience a learning opportunity for all. "We take the best of what we learn from our clients in order to make us the company to come to when you need a management partner".
 
After having lived all over the USA and parts of Europe, Terresa, her husband, son, daughter and granddaughter now call central Texas home.

Director of Technology

After several successful years in retail unit management, Kevin found his true passion in technology. He attended Texas A&M University and Western Governors University and is Comptia, Oracle, CIW and Microsoft certified. As the leader of the technology team at CMSI, Kevin handles all things tech; from the website, to the software our stores use, to the mobile technology that powers our dynamic workforce.
 
Kevin has worked in IT for 10 years in every role from Field Technician to Corporate Help Desk to Project Manager. He believes that technology should empower business processes instead of impeding or dictating them, and works diligently to maximize the use and value of technology at CMSI. He actively volunteers in several organizations, reads exhaustively, and calls Central Texas home with his wife and two young daughters. 
 

Chief Information Officer

Ryan entered into the world of retail when he joined the team in 2001 while working to complete an Associate of Applied Science in Network Administration. Since, Ryan has held many titles and responsibilities. Starting as a Systems Analyst designing, implementing, and supporting site level system, he changed roles to Network Administrator where he designed and built a fully scalable and secure network infrastructure and server architecture capable of supporting any number of retail sites and users. As CIO he oversees projects, help desk support, and keeping systems aligned with the direction of the constantly evolving retail industry.
Ryan has completed extensive software training and honed his critical thinking skills at Lamar University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in 2011. He was recognized as a highest-ranking graduate recognized with the Otho Plummer Award.
In his current position Ryan is driven by a passion for problem solving and creative solutions that work with a focus on Business Continuity. Ryan sets the direction on ideas, solutions, and support for all aspects of Information Systems from technology to business operations including financial and accounting processes and reporting.

District Manager

Gary has worked in operations with CMSI for over 6 years and is currently overseeing site operations for sites in California. As part of our operations team, his efforts are essential to bringing us into sites, developing the store and its staff, and growing a successful business in each store.

Gary particularly likes the family atmosphere between the employees at CMSI and looks forward to the continuing growth of the company.

District Manager

Rana started with CMSI as a store manager before moving up to the position of District Manager. As District Manager, Rana is responsible for the operational oversight of multiple sites and has had operational experience in many markets. Rana reflects the feelings of many of the CMSI operations team when he says “My job gives me the chance to explore different parts of the country and meet new people. I like to work with the variety of challenges that comes with taking over new sites. In working with team members for daily, weekly and monthly inspections I keep close contact with my manager, assistant managers and employees. I pretty much like everything about my job. It's a dream Job for me. “

District Manager

Michael moved to the USA from Nigeria 19 years ago and brought with him decades of experience working with Mobil Oil Nigeria, including time spent as a Marketing Representative and later as the Merchandising Coordinator for all of Nigeria.

Since moving to the the USA, he has worked in management for major industry players such as Mobil USA, Racetrac, and Circle K. He originally joined the CMSI team in 2004, and returned in 2016.

In his own words, he says: “I have worked a total of 7 years on and off for Strasburger/C.M.S.I. and I am proud to say it’s the best Company I have worked for in my adult life”

District Manager

Eldon joined the CMSI Operations team in 2017 as district manager in California, and brings nearly 30 years of convenience retail experience business with him. His c-store career began in 1989, and he quickly moved into management.

With years of experience managing single and multiple-site operations, Eldon enjoys all aspects of the business. He spent years honing his single-store operation skill set while raising his children as a single father, and is excited to move back into the multiple site supervision side of the business.

In his own words, he describes working for CMSI as a dream job. He loves working for a company dedicated to their employees, client companies, and the service of others.

Training Manager

Donna’s introduction to the c-store industry came as an Assistant Manager at a CMSI store. After experience as an Assistant Manager and a Store Manager, she now shares her experience and expertise as one of our traveling Training Managers. In this role, Donna helps our new store managers and assistant managers learn the ropes to successfully manage the day-to-day operation of a retail site.

Donna particularly enjoys the opportunity CMSI has given her to meet many of our customers and conduct training around the country.

Operations Specialist

Alex joined the company as a store shift employee and was soon promoted to Store Manager. Now, as an Operations Specialist, she is involved in new site transitions and ongoing training of management in established stores within the company. She enjoys traveling to all the different areas of the country our sites are located and looks forward to new acquisitions!

Permits and Licenses

Ilene oversees permitting, licensure, and tax registration for CMSI’s retail endeavors. She has a J.D. from Washburn Law School and an LL.M. in Taxation from McGeorge School of Law. As a USAF JAG, she quickly learned to appreciate bureaucracy as a rational but imperfect way to organize human activity. Since that time, “Work the Problem” has been a guiding principle. She lives in beautiful Austin, Texas, with her husband, her children and her dogs.

Accounting Auditor

Roberta joined the CMSI team as Accounting Auditor and reviews the accuracy of invoices, audits, daily paperwork. She works closely with store managers and District Managers to make sure that the store paperwork is complete and correct when it is uploaded into the CMSI online system. Roberta says that she loves being a part of the CMSI team likes to call CMSI “my second family!”

Accounting Coordinator

Among the experienced professionals at CMSI, BJ has uniquely broad experience behind the scenes in our business. Over the last 15 years, she has worked in Marketing, Pricebook, Payroll Administration, Insurance Processing, Accounts Payable Administration, and Store Accounting. Her most recent duties find her coordinating payroll, store accounting, payables, and insurance. 

According to BJ, the c-store industry requires great people skills, interpersonal communication and a great team to work with. My favorite saying is “There is no I in Team”. She has lived around the Temple, Texas area for her entire life and calls the small town of Troy home with her husband and family. BJ is proud of the service that CMSI provides, and the ways we go out of our way to give you the best service that your business needs.

 

Pricebook Administrator

Honda joined CMSI in 2003 as part of our Store Account Auditing team. Over the past 11 years, she has worked in store accounting, payables, as our payroll administrator, and now as the pricebook administrator. Like many CMSI employees, Honday has learned several job roles and enjoyed cross training opportunities while learning our industry from every angle. She lives in the San Antonio area with her husband and children.

 

Accounting Assistant

Joanie joined the CMSI Team in 2016 and works within the accounting department focusing on accounts payable. Joanie has worked as an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist for over 10 years in Texas. Joanie, her husband, and her two daughters really enjoy the Central Texas lifestyle.

Accounting Assistant - Payroll

Tiffany joined the CMSI team in September 2016 as an Office Assistant and Payroll Clerk within the Accounting Department. With over 15 years of Office Administration experience, she has been able to adapt to the fast paced Accounting office quickly.

She has lived in Central Texas her whole life and enjoys football, reading, and dancing.

Accounting Assistant

Annie came to CMSI in 2017 with years of experience in restaurants and retail. As an accounting assistant, she assists in both payables and payroll as part of our flexible administrative team.

In her own words, “I couldn’t be happier about my decision to work at CMSI. I enjoy the people I work with and I am looking forward to being part of this team for a long time!”

Training Manager

Stacy started her CMSI career as a customer service representative in 2009. With years of experience within our company, she has worked in every role from store clerk to area manager. Stacy calls Portland, Oregon home.

Stacy now helps with training our store staffs for successful day to day operations. When asking Stacy what she likes most about her career with CMSI she will tell you how much she loves that CMSI has room to grow if you have the desire to do so and will assist you in meeting and exceeding your goals and dreams for the future. The new stores, staff, and adventures along the way are the best part of working in the CMSI family.

Store Accounting Auditor

Wendy Lopez is a proud native Texan, who resides near Brenham, Texas and has been a part of the CMSI team since 2016. Wendy’s work in the store accounting / auditing department includes reviewing daily store paperwork as well as auditing invoices, merchandise adjustment, and fuel and non-fuel sales. Before joining the CMSI team, Wendy attended Temple College.
